FAQs

Why do 21st Century Publisher publications follow open access policy?

To accelerate the impact of potential research findings, 21st Century Publisher employs an open science business model to provide immediate, global, barrier-free open access to all readers to download, read, and distribute articles without subscription or registration.

How long does it take to publish an article after it is submitted?

21st Century Publisher makes every effort to ensure that manuscripts are reviewed quickly and thoroughly. Ideally, the time between submission and publication should be between 30 and 45 days. However, the exact length of time may vary due to a variety of factors, including the review report of the manuscript by peers and how quickly the authors respond and re-submit their revised article with all necessary modifications, according to the reviewers' report.

Is there a page limit for manuscript writing?

Regular and special issue manuscripts have no page limit, but editorials have a three-page limit.

Are there any additional fees for colour images or the number of pages in the manuscript?

There are no additional fees for colour images or the number of pages. However, if the authors request reprints, there will be a small fee based on the number of reprints requested and the country of delivery.

Why does the 21st Century Publisher charge Article Processing Fees for publishing?

21st Century Publisher does not collect subscription fees from its users and does not receive funding from any sources. 21st Century Publisher adheres to the open access publishing model in order to provide free access to the literature to the scientific community worldwide. To accomplish this and offset operational and technical expenses (such as those for online hosting, developing and maintaining electronic tools, devices, and systems for peer review management and journal production, archiving, and securing inclusion in indexing databases), article publication costs are paid from the author's research budget or by their funding institution or supporting organisation in the form of an Article Processing Charge (APC). Other funding sources could include corporate sponsors. The 21st Century Publisher fee support programmes, which are primarily supported by corporate and other private funding sources, would assist authors who do not have adequate funds for research. More information can be found on the APC page.

Thomson Reuters Scientific prefers journals with at least two years of consistent and efficient standard publishing history to receive an Impact Factor. When Impact Factor becomes available for a particular journal, it is prominently displayed on the journal's home page.

Is it possible to issue a press release about the novel research findings?

If an article is accepted for publication and the editor believes it has the potential to be noteworthy, the editorial office will contact the author to obtain permission to publicise the newsworthy research finding. A research summary focusing on the novel findings and why they are important must be written for this purpose.
